Chail is one of the smallest hill stations of India located in Himachal Pradesh in the North. In 1893, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala was exiled because of eloping with the daughter of Lord Kitchner, the Commander in Chief of the British Indian Army. Maharaja Bhupinder decided to build a new summer capital better than Shimla. This gave rise to the new summer destination Chail. He developed the world’s highest cricket field in Chail.
